Privacy Policy
In short
- We use data to run BudsCollab, keep it secure, fix problems, and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information.
- Sign-in goes through Clerk. Your spaces, canvas, widgets, and similar content are stored with our backend (Convex) so sync and collaboration work.
- Optional pieces—like live sessions, error reporting, or third-party integrations—use the partners listed below; they only get what those features need.
- Questions or rights requests (access, correction, deletion, export where applicable): contact@polyatomic.io.
PolyAtomic Tech("we") operates BudsCollab. This policy explains what we collect when you use budscollab.com and the product, why we have it, and who helps us run it. Questions: contact@polyatomic.io.
What we collect
Account. Clerk handles sign-in. They process things like email, name, and profile photo if you add one, plus session data needed to keep your account secure.
Workspace. What you put in BudsCollab—spaces, rooms, the canvas, widgets, tasks, documents, calendar items you store with us—lives in our database (Convex) so the app can sync and collaborate the way you expect.
Realtime. If you use live collaboration, PartyKit (on Cloudflare's network) carries connection data and messages for that session. Long-term workspace data stays in Convex, not in PartyKit.
Hosting and logs. The site runs on Vercel. Like any host, that involves IP address, rough location from IP, device/browser type, and timestamps. If you enable it, we may use Sentry to catch client and server errors so we can fix them.
Integrations. If you connect third-party apps (for example Google or Linear through our integration layer), those providers receive what their product needs to work. We only pass what is required for the feature you turned on.
How we use it
We use the data above to run and secure BudsCollab, fix bugs, reply when you write us, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Processors
We use vendors we trust under contract. They process data on our instructions. Each publishes its own privacy policy:
Retention and deletion
We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, law, and disputes. You can ask us to delete your account or data where the law and product allow—start at the email above. Some profile fields can be changed in Clerk where the app exposes them.
Security
We use standard safeguards for a web product. No online service is perfectly secure; use a strong password and be careful with room links you share.
Where data is processed
Our vendors may process data in the United States and other countries. Those places may have different privacy rules than your home country.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email contact@polyatomic.io and we will respond as required by law.
Children
BudsCollab is not for children under 13 (or the age your jurisdiction requires). We do not knowingly collect data from children. We ask for a birthdate only to calculate an age band, then store the age band, age-gate version, and safety mode rather than the birthdate itself.
Updates
We may change this policy by posting a new version here and updating the date. For important changes we may also email you or show a notice in the app when that makes sense.
